I Did Not Choose Coaching. It Chose Me.

And chances are, if you are here, something in you is ready to be chosen, too.

My Coaching Philosophy

Why I Do What I Do

As a leader, taking time to focus on yourself can feel like a luxury. Like something you will get to eventually. But here is what I know after more than a decade of coaching some of the most driven, dedicated people in this country:

Self-awareness is not a luxury. It is your greatest leadership asset.

A leader who moves through the world without it can become unwell, unaware, and unwilling, often without even realizing it. And I get it. Navigating today's world is complex. The pressure is real. The pace is relentless. You are not alone in feeling that.

But the leaders who exceed every expectation? They are the ones who invest in their own well-being. They use coaching as a strategic partner, not just to solve problems, but to uncover the root of them. They make better decisions. They lead with more clarity. They show up for others because they have learned to show up for themselves first.

That is the work we do here. And it is transformative.

What Inspired Me to Coach

A Little Bit About Where I Come From

I did not discover coaching in a textbook. I grew up in it. My mom was a teacher. My dad was a community servant. From a very early age, they planted something in me, the belief that everyone deserves an opportunity. If someone's heart is willing and strong enough to press forward, your job is to support that. Don't question it. Don't slow it down. Support it.

That became who I am. Curious by nature. Futuristic by design. Strategic in how I think. And deeply, deeply committed to the people around me, as a wife, a mom, and a business professional. Over the course of my life, I had moments, real, human-to-human moments, that shook me to my core and shaped everything. They reminded me that growth is not always comfortable. That showing up takes courage. And that the right support at the right time can change everything.

In my forties, I found my calling. I invested in my credentials, put in the hours, and committed to a journey that has connected me with some of the most extraordinary people doing some of our nation's toughest work.

Coaching is not just what I do. It is who I was raised to be.

How Do You Know I Am the Right Coach for You?

Great Question. Here Is the Honest Answer.

Coaching only works when the connection is right. So let me be transparent with you about what I bring — and what good coaching actually looks like.

I am a Professional Certified Coach credentialed through the International Coaching Federation (ICF)— one of the most respected credentialing bodies in the coaching profession.

That means I have:

✅ Completed over 500 hours of paid coaching ✅ Passed a recorded competency review

✅ Passed a proctored certification exam ✅ Committed to the highest ethical standards in the industry

And here is something people do not always expect me to say. I am not here to be the expert on your life. You are. My job is to ask the questions that pull your wisdom to the surface. To help you hear yourself more clearly. To get underneath the things that are holding you back without shame, without judgment, and without telling you what to do.

How many times have you already known the answer, but still did not follow through? There is usually something underneath that is worth exploring. That is exactly where coaching lives. And if I am ever not the right fit for you, I will tell you. And I will help you find someone who is. That is how I operate. As a novice coach, I let one person talk me into coaching them, with my gut telling me "no" and not honoring myself as a partner in the coaching relationship. I learned a valuable lesson that has since served me well and contributed to the success of my work.

What Does It Take to Be Coached?

Real Talk, Before You Begin

Before we do anything else, I want to be honest with you about one thing:

Coaching only works if YOU want it. Not because your boss suggested it. Not because someone told you that you should. It is because something in you is genuinely ready to grow, stretch, and do the work.

Here is what I have seen in over a decade of coaching: about 98% of the time, we unpack things clients never even knew were there until the right question opened it up. That is the magic of this process. I say that it is a process because it is not something that happens in one hour.  Coaching requires you to show up, and your willingness to get a little uncomfortable at times. I ask you to hold yourself accountable between sessions. If your organization has asked you to be coached and you are not sure how you feel about it, talk to me or someone you trust who is a coach first. It matters. We will work through it together and make sure the process actually serves you.

Here is the bottom line I want you to walk away with:

You are your legacy. Your best work comes from being your best self and recognizing the value you already carry within you.

That is where we start. With you. Exactly as you are.
